The Welsummer Club of North America is dedicated to promote, improve, and protect the interests of the Welsummer breed of chickens and their owners. As part of this mission, the Club also strives to produce the rich, red brown terra cotta egg shell color of the Welsummer as consistently as possible.

Our members and breeders may or may not be interested in showing their birds or eggs. Admiration of the breed for its beauty and character, gentle temperament and egg color is the main attraction for the owners themselves.

The WCNA has an active email discussion list on the Yahoogroups site. You are welcome to ask any questions there, keep in contact with other Welsummer members, learn about Welsummers, and discuss other topics of interest. To join the Yahoogroups site, go here:

You do not have to own Welsummers to join this club, but we are certain that you will soon be the proud owner of a Welsummer! We are currently a very young club, but over time we will be electing club officers and taking on other goals. At this time, all memberships are FREE!
